Dr. Lara Newman, M.D.

Lara Newman, M.D.

Dr. Newman is a people person by nature and loves the opportunity to get to know her patients through the continuity of their clinical and surgical care. Her specialties include cornea, external disease, cataract surgery, and refractive surgery.

“Cornea care combines my interests of surgery — especially transplant surgery — and clinical medicine with its diagnostic puzzles as each patient’s case is unique,” she says. “I enjoy that challenge.”

A busy mother of two young children, she and her husband enjoy getting out and exploring the Greenville area’s nature preserves and parks as a family. They’ve been impressed with the friendly, welcoming atmosphere here, and love trying out new restaurants. In her spare time, Dr. Newman indulges her interests in cooking and baking, playing piano, and tending her vegetable garden.
