Dr. Michael Mequio, MD is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery – including advanced technology intraocular implants. Dr. Mequio also treats patients with glaucoma and medical retinal conditions.
Dr. Mequio enjoys working with patients to achieve their best vision and optimal ocular health.
Prior to joining Jervey Eye, Dr. Mequio practiced at St. Luke’s Cataract & Laser Institute and served in the United States Air Force at MacDill Air Force Base. While in the Air Force, he served as Chief of Ophthalmology at MacDill Air Force Base.
Dr. Mequio enjoys working with patients to achieve their best vision and optimal ocular health, and he has a passion for humanitarian medicine. Over the years, he has completed mission work in Zambia, The Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Outside of work, Dr. Mequio enjoys the outdoors. His favorite sports include kite boarding, stand up paddling, mountain biking, and hiking.
Dr. Mequio and his wife, Devin, have three children and are excited to be a part of the Upstate community.
