A Legacy of Quality Eye Care

In the early 1900s, visionary ophthalmologist Dr. James “Jack” Jervey opened one of the nation’s first eye hospitals right here in Upstate South Carolina. Driven by compassion, he laid the foundation for a legacy of exceptional eye care for our community that continued with his son, Dr. James Jervey Jr., and grandson, Dr. Edward Darrell Jervey II.

In the late 1970s and early 80s, distinguished ophthalmologists recognized a growing need for more specialized, high-quality eye care services and exams in Upstate South Carolina.  To provide better service to their patients, these doctors formed groups like Easley Eye, Carolina Eye, and Greenville Eye Associates, pooling their knowledge and expertise.

About Us

30 Visionary Years since 1994

A Collaborative Vision, Built on Tradition

By the early 1990s, there was a growing community of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Upstate, all in solo or small group practices. A group of these doctors began discussions with a vision of combining their smaller practices to provide excellence most effectively in all aspects of eye care for their patients. This collaboration led to the merger of several smaller groups and the founding of Jervey Eye Group in 1994. When selecting a name for the new group, Jervey was chosen to honor the legacy of the Jervey family in providing exceptional and compassionate eye care for the Upstate of South Carolina.

Today, Jervey Eye Group continues to provide exceptional care by combining eye doctors with unmatched expertise and a steadfast dedication to excellence, ensuring the best possible patient outcomes.
